This privacy policy explains how personal data is handled when you visit the Mallorca Car Deals website at https://mallorcacardeals.com. It applies to this website only.

2. What this website is

Mallorca Car Deals is an independent discovery and information website about car rental providers and rental locations in Mallorca. We do not rent out cars and do not take bookings on this website. When you decide to book, you do so on the website or through the channels of the rental provider. Some links to providers may be affiliate links (see our Terms of Use).

3. Short version

  • The website has no analytics and no advertising or marketing cookies.
  • We do not use tracking pixels, social media plug-ins or user profiling.
  • We do not use Firebase or similar app analytics services on this website.
  • We do not use Google Maps. Location maps on some pages use OpenStreetMap tiles, which load only when the map section approaches your viewport (not during the initial page load). You can also open the location in OpenStreetMap via an external link.
  • You do not need an account to use the website, and we do not ask you to enter personal data on it.

4. Data we process

4.1 Server and hosting data

When you visit the website, the server technically receives and may temporarily store data that your browser transmits, such as your IP address, date and time of the request, the requested page, the amount of data transferred, the browser type and operating system, and the referring page. This processing is technically necessary to deliver the website, keep it secure and stable, and detect abuse.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the secure and efficient operation of the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is processed by our hosting and content delivery providers acting as processors on our behalf. The data is kept only for as long as necessary for these purposes, in line with the retention periods of the hosting service.

4.2 Contact by email

If you write to us at hello@mallorcard.es, we process the data you send us (for example your name, email address and the content of your message) to answer your enquiry. Please do not send sensitive information such as payment card numbers or copies of identity documents.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete the correspondence once your enquiry has been dealt with and no legal retention obligation applies.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not use cookies or similar technologies for analytics, advertising, marketing or tracking. Because of this, we do not show a cookie consent banner and do not provide a separate cookie policy. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy beforehand and, where required by law, ask for your consent first.

6. Maps and external links

Some pages show an interactive map for verified locations. The map library and OpenStreetMap map tiles are not loaded with the initial page render. They are requested only when the map section approaches your viewport (progressive loading). When those tiles load, your browser connects to OpenStreetMap tile servers (operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation), which may receive technical data such as your IP address and process it under their own privacy policy. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in showing locations in a usable way (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Each map also includes an “Open in maps” link. If you follow that or any other external link (including rental provider websites), you leave our website and the third party processes data under its own privacy policy.

7. Links to rental providers and affiliate links

Links on this website may lead to the websites of rental providers or partners. Where we take part in affiliate programmes, the partner may use cookies or identifiers once you are on its website, in order to attribute a booking to us. This happens under the partner's own responsibility and privacy policy, not ours. Depending on the programme, the partner may tell us that a booking was made through our link so that we can calculate any commission. We do not receive your payment data. Please read the partner's privacy policy before you enter personal data there.

8. Recipients and international transfers

We share personal data only with service providers that we use to operate the website (hosting and content delivery) and, where legally required, with authorities. If a service provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we require appropriate safeguards under Chapter V GDPR, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR and Spanish data protection law (Organic Law 3/2018), you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased;
  • restrict processing;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • withdraw any consent you have given, with effect for the future.

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

The website is delivered over an encrypted HTTPS connection. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data we process.

12. Future app

A separate app is planned at https://app.mallorcacardeals.com. This privacy policy covers only the website. The app will have its own privacy information, which will be provided before you use it.

13. Changes

We may update this policy when the website or legal requirements change. The current version is always available on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
